Artist Bio:
Richard Young- saxophonist/ composer
Richard’s music career began as a trumpet player in the Marine Corps field bands of Albany, GA and 29 Palms, CA. at the age of 17. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1993, Richard took up the saxophone. He began composing music and sold his first pop song “Keep the Fire Burning” to singer Dan Diaz while he was in college. Richard has performed with various bands including Rare Form, Milt and Friends (Wilber Milton was a former member of the James Brown Band) and the Playmates.
Some of his projects include composing the theme song for Ocean East resort club in Ormond Beach, Fl (www.oceaneast.com), working with Bobby Hendricks, the original lead singer from the Drifters, and working as a producer, arranger, and engineer for Eddie Snyder, who has written music for Frank Sinatra.
